The cyber security unit was never in existence before now. It is just being conceived in order to have a secured and user trusted for university IT ecosystem. The following are some of the potential benefits for the university community:

- Proactive Cybersecurity Measures: The unit can actively search for weaknesses and unusual activities in systems, enabling them to mitigate threats.
- Continuous threat hunting: By constantly monitoring systems, the unit shall act as a security lookout (security eagle eye), identifying and addressing potential dangers before they can cause harm.
- Early warning system for security: A cyber security unit functions like an early warning system for security issues, allowing them to be dealt with before they turn into major problems.
- Developing in-house Cybersecurity Capacity: Through educational programs on best practices like recognizing phishing attempts and creating strong passwords, the unit shall equip her personnel to be the first line of defense against security threats and attacks.
- Promoting University-wide Cybersecurity Awareness: By implementing training programs, the cyber security unit fosters a culture where members of the university community employees are aware of cyber threats and take steps to minimize security risks.
